Ethernet ASF Advance Configuration

ASF is an industry specification that defines alerting capability in both operating system-present and operating system-absent environments.

Note: This web page is controlled by the ASF field in the Ethernet Basic Configuration page. If ASF is disabled, this web page is read-only and no configuration change is allowed. If ASF is enabled, configuration change is allowed on this web page.


Parameters


Parameter Description
Destination IP address (IPv4 only) IP address of the managing station computer that is receiving the ASF alert frames. For ASF to be functional, the destination IP address must be specified. Only IPv4 address is supported (not IPv6).
Number of identical alerts to send for an alert condition ASF retry count indicates the number of times an ASF alert will be sent out for a given event. If the value is more than one, the alert is sent at an interval of approximately 1 second. This is a global setting applied across all events.
Heartbeat alert When ASF Heartbeat alert is enabled, the ASF Heartbeat alert is sent out periodically to detect the presence, as well as the health, of any computer on the LAN.
Heartbeat interval Set the time interval between ASF Heartbeat alerts.

Button Description
Apply Apply changes.
When you click Apply, the network interface is disabled and then enabled in order for the changes to take place. This might result in error messages from network applications.
